Sweet As Hunny Photography Studio was born from a calling, not a trend. Photography found me long before it became my profession. In high school, a teacher noticed my natural eye behind the camera and encouraged me to pursue it further. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something more.
I originally attended the University of Missouri with plans to become a Labor & Delivery nurse. But while taking photography classes at the zoo during nursing school, one professor pulled me aside and said something that changed everything: “You should be shooting weddings. You are exceptionally talented.”
I listened.
I photographed my first wedding and earned $5,000—and in that moment, my path became crystal clear. I officially launched my photography business at just 21 years old and never looked back.
Today, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Photography and in in Marketing, and a minor in Business— from Both Mizzou and Webster University. This combination allows me to blend artistry, strategy, and storytelling at the highest level. But more than any degree, this work is my passion and my purpose. after 25 years in this industry, I am continuously still learning and growing.
My Philosophy:
I believe photography is more than creating beautiful images—it’s about honoring moments that matter. The fleeting, emotional, once-in-a-lifetime moments that deserve to be remembered exactly as they felt. My approach is rooted in connection, intention, and authenticity. I don’t just document what things look like; I capture what they mean. I pay attention to the quiet in-between moments, the genuine laughter, the subtle glances, and the emotion you didn’t even realize was happening.
Over the years, my clients have become much more than clients—they’ve become dear friends and extended family. That connection is at the heart of everything I do, and it’s why every session is deeply personal and thoughtfully crafted.
My faith is central to who I am and to the work I create. I believe God is present in every moment I capture and that this gift of photography was entrusted to me with purpose. The human body, love, family, and celebration are all blessings from God—and caring for them, honoring them, and preserving them is something to be proud of. Every session is approached with gratitude, creativity, and prayerful intention.
Giving back is also an essential part of my work and my faith in action. I am passionate about supporting charities in our community, especially organizations that serve children with disabilities and cancer, our veterans and first responders, and families welcoming children through adoption.
My goal is simple: to create timeless images that tell your story honestly, beautifully, and with heart—images you’ll cherish long after the moment has passed.
I truly believe God placed this gift in my hands. Every image I create is rooted in intention, emotion, and connection—capturing moments that are sweet, meaningful, and timeless.
